If the T-shirt fits…

The latest fashion craze in the PA area and among some Israeli Arabs is shirts and pants with the M-16 rifle printed on them.

They became popular as a show of support for the killing of Israelis soon after Palestinian terrorist Diya Hamarsheh killed 5 people in Bnei Brak (near Tel Aviv) last month, and was shown on TV and social media shooting Israeli victims with his M-16 rifle. .

A Palestinian shop owner described the phenomenon to Al-Arab, an independent British Arabic news site:

“’The demand for this type of clothing is enormous. I think the reason is the situation in Palestine recently, and especially in Jenin’ …Abu Hamzah noted that in 10 days he sold about 12,000 shirts or pants which also had the prints on, and he ordered an additional 12,000 units due to ‘big demand.’ ”

It’s no surprise that this shirt is very popular on Jenin. Most of the terrorist killers, including those who killed using M-16 rifles, came from the Jenin area.

Al-Arab further explain:

“Palestinian and Israeli academics and politicians say that recent attacks by Palestinians on Israeli targets, some of whom use M-16 weapons, ‘have become a symbol of inspiration to many young Palestinians, increasing their desire to emulate them. . carry out [the attacks].’”

The support of the Palestinian people for these killers reflects the support that has come from Palestinian leaders. Palestine Media Watch has documented that Fatah leaders, after calling for months of terror and violence, are now expressing open support for these killers.

Israeli news site N12 also reported that several Israeli Arabs were also wearing the same M-16 T-shirt:

“Arab workers at famous [Israeli] supermarkets, students and young children – seen wearing T-shirts with the gun on them.”

The message from T-shirts today is open support or even admiration for the use of weapons to kill Israelis during the current wave of terror. Israelis are naturally outraged at this open terror support by some Israeli Arabs.

Here’s a longer quote from the article in Al-Arab:

“[Palestinian] women gathered to buy cotton shirts with M-16 rifle prints at the request of their sons. There has been a growing demand for the shirts since the Palestinians carried out the attack on Israel last month [March 2022] with the M-16 rifle…

T-shirts with automatic rifles have spread in Palestinian markets in various colors over the past two months, in other words, since the recent tensions between the Palestinians and Israelis began, in which 14 Israelis and 23 Palestinians were killed, including a figure. [of Palestinians] who carried out the attack.

Ahmed Abu Hamza, 40, a shop owner who sells these shirts, said: ‘The demand for this type of clothing is huge. I think the reason is the situation in Palestine recently, and especially in Jenin.’ (PMW note: most of the terrorist killers, including those who killed using M-16 rifles – came from the Jenin area)…

Abu Hamzah noted that in 10 days he sold about 12,000 printed shirts or pants, and he ordered an additional 12,000 units due to ‘huge demand.’

Palestinian and Israeli academics and politicians say that recent attacks by Palestinians on Israeli targets, some of whom use M-16 weapons, ‘have become a symbol of inspiration to many young Palestinians, increasing their desire to imitate those who carry weapons. go out [the attacks]’…

[For example] on social media and on media outlets a video was published in which Diya Hamarsheh (i.e., terrorist, killed 5 with and M-16), one of the attackers, is seen walking around Bnei Brak next to Tel Aviv in late March and shooting with an M rifle. -16. As a result 3 Israelis and 2 Ukrainians were killed.”
