Princess Anne will attend the Royal Windsor Horse Show tonight to witness the Platinum contest in celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee. The Royal Princess will join the audience in the grounds of Windsor Castle for a dazzling theatrical reenactment of the royal history. 1,500 performers, 500 horses and a lineup of celebrities, including Ant and Dec, Dame Helen Mirren and Tom Cruise, will take to the arena for the 90-minute show.

As a former professional equestrian, Anne is expected to take part in the competition.

While the Royal Princess is now known for her commitment to her role as a royal worker, she was once recognized as the royal equestrian champion.

The princess made her debut in public competitions at the age of 11, was the first royal to take part in the Olympics and even competed at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

However, Anne had to give up her equestrian career prematurely to fully dedicate her time to her public duties.

Now, at the age of 71, he has established himself as a dedicated member of the Royal Family and has been awarded the “hardest working aristocrat” award.

During decades of public events, Anne has also been praised for her timeless and elegant style.

Samantha Harman, fashion expert and personal stylist, praised the princess as “one of the most underrated royals when it comes to style”.

Similar to her mother, Anne doesn’t feel the need to make a big splash when it comes to her fashion choices, and instead opts for classic silhouettes, monochromatic outfits and sensible footwear.

She approaches fashion the same way she does her royal duties, unobtrusive but determined to do everything right.

Harmant said: “Princess Anne is perhaps one of the most underrated royalty when it comes to style.

“Sometimes we can look back at the files in a celebrity’s wardrobe and think ‘wow! Their style has changed a lot’. But Anne’s style is ‘classic Anne’.

“There have been no major ‘makeovers’ or ‘changes’ in her style over the last 50 years – you can see this is the same woman, with a strong sense of who she is.

“There are many elements in her clothing that transcend time and trends, from the 1970s to today.”

While the personal stylist claims Anne “is a good example of someone who repurposes things, buying classic shapes,” she also says that the princess isn’t “afraid to try new things.”

In December, the Royal Princess stepped out in knee-high tasseled boots, a very modern choice for a veteran royal.

Harman commented on her look, saying: “Considering she is 71 years old, it’s great to see Princess Anne isn’t afraid to try new trends or looks.

“We normally expect to see it in riding boots, so the brim is an interesting touch.

“So many women get caught up in the idea that you have to stick to the same things as you get older, but this is not true at all.

“I think this is a great example of how to incorporate something new into your look.

“Take your classics – the coat has been in Anne’s wardrobe for several years – and add a new accessory or a little twist.

“Her look is still typical of ‘Anne’ but shows her personality.”

A proud clothing repeater, Anne had a sustainable style approach long before sustainability was a fashion buzzword.

The Royal Princess was recently photographed wearing the same outfit more than once during the Royal Tour of Australia and Papua New Guinea to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Anne wore a double-breasted navy blazer twice in one week, an unprecedented move in the world of Royal Tours, especially when it came to the Firm’s female members.

Just weeks earlier, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge held a week-long fashion show during her and Prince William’s tour of the Caribbean, with outfits carefully thought out to not only provide style but also meet the demands and social politics of the event.

Ms Harman suggests “taking a leaf out of Anne’s book” by recycling old clothes.

He said: “Over the last decade or so, our fashion consumption has increased to an insane level.

“We buy five times as much clothes now as we did in the 1980s.

“For a while, it’s ‘not cool’ to put something back on, and we can order new dresses with the click of a button for a few pounds.

“But I think we could all take a sheet from Anne’s book and take care of and put our clothes back on.”
