Each year a series of summer garden parties are held at Buckingham Palace, honoring and celebrating members of the community.
In previous years, the Queen has hosted this garden party flanked by members of her family, who endeavor to meet and greet as many attendees as possible.
Buckingham Palace announced this month that after the 96-year-old “episodic mobility problem”, the Queen will be represented at this year’s party by members of her family.

Princess Diana—July 15, 1993
Princess Diana did not attend many garden parties during her time as a member of the royal family, but in 1993 did attend one held on 15 July. For the occasion, she wore an elegant primrose yellow suit with a large long stripe blazer and wide-brimmed weave. hat.
The princess paired her look with pearl accessories and she supported the Queen during the event with the king’s cousin, the Duke of Kent.

When Kate Middleton joined the royal family, she was praised for her fashion choices, and this extends to her maternity clothing choices. Where in previous decades the royal woman had not appeared at official events being heavily pregnant, Kate appeared at the palace garden party with the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince Philip and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
Kate wore a custom coat dress by designer Emilia Wickstead and a hat by Jane Corbett.

For a garden party look in 2015 the Queen wore a stylish tweed boucle coat dress in beige, pink and blue tones. The king’s attire also features small embroidered flowers and bold ruffled details that border the center-front opening.
The Queen paired her outfit with a heritage diamond star brooch and her favorite pearl necklace while carrying her iconic black London Launer handbag.

Princess Anne, the Queen’s only daughter, performs many charitable and official duties throughout the year and often tops lists of the hardest-working royals. In 2015 the princess attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace supporting the Queen, wearing an eye-catching purple and green ensemble with a jacquard pipe coat and purple floral hat.

For the 2017 Buckingham Palace garden party, Kate wore an elegant icy blue coat dress by designer Christopher Kane. The sleek longline design of the coat gown features princess stitching and a coordinating belt royal paired with a hat by Lock & Co and a 1930s vintage handbag by designer Josef.

For the 2017 garden party, the Queen wore a bright yellow outfit that helped her stand out from the thousands in attendance. The queen’s attire is punctuated by a royal blue pop that is present on the band of her hat and a floral dress worn under a blocky yellow coat.
During this garden party there was a special two-minute silence for the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing, which happened the day before.
Meghan Markle—May 22, 2018
Meghan Markle has only attended one Buckingham Palace garden party so far. It was one immediately after her May 19 wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
The party was specially organized to mark the Prince of Wales’ 70th birthday and the guests were all representatives of the charity and its staff from the previous decade.
Meghan wore a pale pink dress from fashion label GOAT that featured organza sleeves and a high neckline. In this dress she paired a Philip Treacy plate hat and an oyster silk handbag from Wilbur & Gussie.
