Escape from drama.
Vanessa Paradis was spotted attending a Chanel Cruise event in Monte Carlo, Monaco, on Thursday, amid the ongoing defamation trial against Amber Heard.
The French model – who shares two children, Lily-Rose, 22, and Jack, 20, with Depp, looked chic in a Chanel tweed jacket over a white blouse.
She completed her look with black-and-pink jeans and heels, smiling at the camera with the sea in the background.
Photogs snapped at Paradis, 49, just days after it was revealed in Depp’s defamation lawsuit that he once called him a “t-france blackmailer” in an email to Elton John.
While under cross-examination from Heard’s attorney, Ben Rottenborn, Depp, 58, confirmed the abusive language referred to Paradis, whom he dated from 1998 to 2012.
He claims he attempted to turn their children against Heard after their breakup.
“When you refer to the French blackmailer and call him ‘ex’, you are referring to Vanessa Paradis, the mother of your children, right?” Rottenborn asked.
“Yes, sir,” replied Depp, noting that his relationship with Paradis was strained at the time.
Regardless, Paradis is still trying to defend Depp against Heard’s claims that he was a “wife beater” during his 2020 case against The Sun newspaper, which he ultimately lost.
“Over the years I have known Johnny as a kind, caring, generous and non-violent person and father. On the set of the film, the actors, director and entire crew adored him because he was humble and respectful to everyone, as well as being one of the best actors we’ve ever seen,” he wrote in an official statement at the time.
“I am aware of the allegations that Amber Heard has publicly accused Johnny of for over four years now. This is not like the real Johnny I know, and from my personal experience over the years, I can say that he has never been violent or harassed me,” the statement continued.
“I have seen that these outrageous statements are really sad, and also cause damage to his career because unfortunately people continue to believe these false facts. It is very disappointing that he has helped so many people in his personal and professional life, with kindness and generosity.”
